From H-West:
Hi All,
I am looking to put together a *Borderlands Agriculture and Economy* panel for next year’s Agricultural History Society annual meeting in Banff. I am interested in papers from any period of time and any place in the world, but which focus specifically on agriculture and economy in a borderland space. I define such a space as one which possesses an unclear or contested national or cultural identity between other empires or states, and in which imperial or state power is weak or non-existent. Borderlands often have a border running through them. They often exhibit dynamics of identity-formation, social conflict, and border-crossing and invasion.

The deadline has been extended to October 15, 2012.
Drop me a line if you are interested!
